New Features

  • Spam & Trash quick actions in ticket preview: The ticket preview now includes quick actions to mark a request as Spam or move it to Trash without opening the full request. See Previewing a Request from the Grid.
  • Latest Private Note column in filter CSV exports: Filter CSV exports can now include a Latest Private Note column, making it easier to review internal context alongside exported ticket data. See Exporting Filter Results to CSV and the Filter Display Columns Glossary.
  • Warning before deleting dependent custom fields: Deleting a custom field that's still referenced by an automation rule, filter, or report now warns you first, so you can update or remove those dependencies before the field disappears. See Custom Fields.

Improvements

  • More accurate queue length on System Health: Queue length now counts only jobs that are actually runnable, rather than including jobs scheduled for the future. This avoids an inflated queue depth on System Health and the Todayboard. See Viewing and Tracking System Health and Workers.
  • Non-writable upload_tmp_dir no longer marked critical: Continuing the System Health refinements from 5.8.3, a non-writable upload_tmp_dir is now reported as a warning rather than a critical status, since PHP will fall back to its own default in most environments. See the Storage Permissions check in Viewing and Tracking System Health.
  • Short overlap expiry for frequent scheduled commands: Scheduled commands that run very frequently now use a short overlap-prevention expiry, so a single slow run can no longer block subsequent runs from starting once it should reasonably have finished.

Bug Fixes

  • Bounded total time for outbound HTTP requests: Internal hsHTTP() calls (webhooks, integrations, and similar outbound requests) previously bounded only the connection time. A slow or unresponsive endpoint could still hang the overall request indefinitely. Total request time is now capped with CURLOPT_TIMEOUT.
  • Quoted phrases in SQL Server full-text search: A search containing a user-quoted phrase (e.g. “out of office”) was being unquoted internally before being sent to SQL Server, so it matched each word individually instead of the exact phrase. Quoted phrases are now preserved and searched as written. See the full text search syntax in Search.
  • Duplicate notify entries from repeated @-mentions: @-mentioning the same staffer more than once when adding them to the notify list could add duplicate entries. Adding a mention is now idempotent, so the same staffer is only added once.
  • Missing webhook trigger translations: Added German, Dutch, and Spanish translations for webhook trigger strings that were falling back to English.
  • Round Robin auto-assign could stop assigning: Under certain conditions, Round Robin auto-assignment could hit a null pointer and stop assigning new requests entirely. Assignment now continues reliably.
  • CC removal not sticking with “Convert TOs to Cc”: With the “Convert TOs to Cc” setting enabled, removing an address from Cc could have it silently reappear. Removed addresses now stay removed.
  • 4.x upgrade crash in document history migration: Upgrading from HelpSpot 4.x could crash during the add_history_id_to_documents migration step. The migration now completes successfully.
  • Notify list cleared when toggling a note's visibility: Switching a note between public and private could clear its notify-staff list. The list is now preserved when toggling visibility.
  • Invalid Cc address could block an entire outgoing message: A single malformed Cc address on a request could cause the whole outgoing message to fail to send. Invalid Cc addresses are now skipped so the rest of the message still goes out.
  • Importing email with no Subject header: Incoming email with no Subject header could fail to import. These messages now import correctly.
